About Back-Play

Built because backtesting
was taking too long.

A personal tool that fixed a real frustration. One week of data used to take an hour. Now it takes 15 minutes.

The honest story

I used to genuinely dread backtesting. Not because of the analysis itself, but because of everything that came with it. Taking screenshots, switching windows, typing out my description and thoughts for every single trade, trying to remember the context before the chart moved on.

Backtesting a single week of data was taking me close to an hour. That is not sustainable when you are trying to build real consistency across hundreds of setups.

Back-Play fixed that. I speak the trade, the screenshot gets captured automatically, and I am on to the next one. That same week of data now takes about 15 minutes. The difference is real and it changed how often I actually sit down and do the work.

What it does

You describe the trade by voice. Back-Play captures a screenshot at exactly the right moment, parses the date and P&L you say out loud, and saves it to the session. No keyboard needed mid-backtest.

Every session is locked to one strategy, so your data stays clean and you can actually compare what works versus what does not. The analytics page shows win rate, profit factor, and cumulative P&L filtered by strategy and date range.

Who it is for

Anyone who backtests seriously and keeps getting slowed down by the logging process. Prop firm traders grinding toward a funded account. Strategy testers who need clean, separated data. Live traders who want a journal that keeps up with them instead of the other way around.

What makes it different

  • Voice-first logging so you never break your flow to type
  • Automatic screenshots captured at the right moment, stored with every trade
  • One strategy per session so your data is never mixed up
  • Date-true analytics based on when the trade happened, not when you logged it
  • Built for prop traders grinding toward a funded account

Try it yourself

Start a session, log a few trades by voice, and see how fast it actually is.
